The West Houston Study Club – Since 2002
The West Houston Study Club
The West Houston Study Club was established in 2002 to provided continued education classes to Houston area doctors. The meetings are held four times per year in a seminar format with national and local speakers. The lectures are well-attended by collaborative professionals who share a passion for patient care and professional development. The seminars run approximately four hours in length. Dinner is provided at all meetings. Continuing Education credits will be provided that will help meet the state requirements for dental professionals to renew their licenses. The interdisciplinary collaboration provides an excellent format for new dentists to grow and improve clinical expertise to raise the standard of patient care.
The meetings allow for interactive discussion of aspects of treatment planning, procedures and handling of complications. It is a way to tap the collective knowledge and opinion of all the doctors in attendance within a trusted learning environment and informal atmosphere. The meeting also allows for health care-based companies to demonstrate the newest cutting-edge technology. Currently, by partnering with sponsors who share the same learning philosophy, we can bring local and nationally recognized speakers to present without charging tuition.
Examples of previous lectures:
- The orthodontist, oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and general dentist’s role in the management of breathing disorders due to a narrow airway.
- The diagnosis and management of temporomandibular joint disorders.
- Implant dentistry for the edentulous patient.
- Zero bone loss concept for dental implants.
- Digital workflow for full arch dental implants
- Diagnosis and management of head and neck pathology.
