Moms and Daughters Combat Age

May 10, 2013

May 9, 2013, Katy, TX- Mothers and daughters are always looking for ways to spend valuable time together. Women find many ways to bond and nothing unites them more than their appearance. Since looks are so important to Dallas mothers and daughters they have found that plastic surgery is a great way to bond.

Its no secret that women dont like to age or get older, in a recent Allure survey 91 percent of women and 84 percent of men agreed that women were under the most pressure to defy the signs of aging and maintain a youthful appearance. Since looking younger is so important to many women, plastic surgeons are seeing an increase of mothers and daughters coming to their offices together.

Such is the case of two Dallas women, featured in a Daily Mail story from last fall, who said they did everything together, so plastic surgery was just another way for them to bond and spend time together.

Jani Reyes told her mother Tasha Sheckells that she wanted a facelift, liposuction on her neck and cosmetic fillers. Reyes said I decided right away that was what I was going to do. And then [Tasha] said Well, I need a few things too.

Shortly, after that conversation the two women scheduled a consultation with a local plastic surgeon and decided to have their procedure together so they could be there for each other.

Sheckells was pleases with her results and said the best thing about her procedure was it allowed her to bond with her daughter, She held my hand through the whole thing, and helped me after I got home.

Plastic surgery patients like Sheckells and Reyes, having a procedure together offers them the opportunity to have someone share their experience and provide support while they go through the recovery process.

So why are mother-daughter procedures becoming so popular in Dallas? Some believe that reality television shows like Big Rich Texas is helping make mother-daughter procedures more popular. The increasing number of celebrities who are happy to boast about their cosmetic surgeries has some part in helping the industry to grow.

Along with the obvious physical benefits of facial plastic surgery, it can also give your self-esteem a much needed boost and improve your overall mental health, which only makes mother-daughter relationships stronger.

Last summer Mens Health gave Dallas the title of the fifth vainest city in the U.S., it also has the highest concentration of cosmetic surgeons per capita.
